Liquid Lounge: Getting Ready for the 8th Anniversary…

The Jose Cuervo Underwater Bar will be 8 years old on May 5th, 2008. Hopefully, Sue Cocking, the Miami Herald Outdoor Writer will find the time to visit with her photographer. The bar sits in 20 feet of water, about 200 yards east of Nikki Beach at the southern end of Miami Beach.

The Environmental Coalition of Miami Beach – www.ecomb.org – has embraced the idea of reestablishing a natural reef near 3rd Street and Ocean Drive that was covered by sand when the beach was ‘renourished’ in 2003. Listen to www.blogtalkradio.com/kenenglish for more information.

Coral Gables Opera just recorded the American Ideal IV concert for WLRN-TV Channel 17. The concert will be on the PBS station during the summer. This a five minute highlight video: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=fF3-Ufz8-LE. More will be posted later. Check out www.coralgablesopera.com for more information.

Speaking of ECOMB, they initiated an unique private-sector program to help keep Miami Beach clean. The Eco-Art Gallery by the Sea is a project to find sponsors for artwork placed on 204 trash cans that line the beach from Government Cut to South Beach. Earthday was the debut.
